Who benefits from ABA?
Individuals diagnosed with autism can benefit greatly from ABA therapy.  The younger they start, the better results we typically observe. At this time, most insurance companies won’t pay for ABA for other diagnosis.
Is ABA covered by insurance?
Most insurance plans in the US cover ABA therapy. Coverage varies by state and healthcare plan.
How does ABA therapy work?
ABA Therapy involves breaking down tasks into small steps, using visual, verbal, and physical prompts, and rewarding positive behaviors while working to minimize inappropriate or unwanted behaviors.
What are some things to consider when choosing an ABA therapist?
How much will the out of pocket cost be to you?  How long has the BCBA been working in the Behavioral Health field?  How do they handle negative behaviors during therapy?
Does ABA include OT, PT and/or Speech therapy?
No, ABA does not replace the need for your child to have other needed therapies, such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy or Speech Therapy.
